My favorite outfit as a kid was a handmade shirt and skirt that my mom made me more a violin recitals. It was a shirred white top with peasant sleeves and a long, black, tiered skirt. She braided my hair on top of my head and stuck small roses into the braids. I felt beautiful, like Frida Kahlo. For both my mother and me, that outfit is the quintessence of my style. Winter in Pink
It was the winter of 2019. I had been living in Germany for 8 years and I had never quite gotten used to be constantly cold.
